A public transport system worthy of a small and medium European city: L.A.

If there are so many traffic jams and smog throughout the city, much of which is caused by motor vehicles, we might think that urban public transport does not exist but it is present and relatively well developed even if it does not prevent air pollution and traffic jams because the car is the first choice.

The means of transportation existed at the beginning of the development of Los Angeles, i.e. in the middle and end of the 19th century. Referring to the chronology of Los Angeles mobility provided by the Los Angeles Department of Urbanism, the train was set up in 1869 that connected the city to the port area of San Pedro, in the South.

Then in 1874, the first means of intra-urban transport was established with only a 4 km line which consisted of sorts of open cars pulled by horses. In 1895, the first intercity tramway line between Los Angeles and Pasadena was inaugurated, and in the meantime, the rail network had already been established by connecting Los Angeles to California and the other US States where Union Station, the main Los Angeles train station, opened its doors in 1939.

In 1897, Los Angeles inaugurated the first bike path that connects the Downtown neighborhood to Pasadena, it is 7.2 km long. In 1902, a private transportation company, the Pacific
